Thanks to all of you who entered the Banned Books print giveaway! It was so much fun to read through all the comments and hear about your favorite books. I have started a list of must-reads based on your suggestions! I completely agree with those of you who said they couldn’t pick ONE favorite…I got to thinking about mine and if I had to pick one, it would be The Color Purple by Alice Walker. Love, love, love that book.

I always appreciate when blogs give you a peek at HOW winners of giveaways are determined, so you know it’s not a hand-picked type of thing. For anyone who wants to know, I assign a number to the comment based on the order they are received (i.e. first commenter/oldest comment on the post is #1) and I don’t include any comments where you replied to each other (only your original comment and any subsequent comments pertaining to blogging or posting about the giveaway).
Based on the number of comments received as of this afternoon, I put the range (in this case, 1-45) into the generator at random.org. I then find the commenter whose post aligns with that number and voila, our lovely winner!
I will certainly be doing more giveaways like these as I get some things together for my Etsy shop, so stay tuned and in the meantime, I hope to see more of you all here at Life In Yellow!
