I keep hearing that this country is in a recession…and yet I don’t think anyone in the plumbing, electrical, or HVAC industries has been affected. It has taken us a full month to get people to call us back, let alone come out to the house and give us an estimate for our basement finishing project. All of which we needed to happen in order to get the application in for our building permit – which of course we need before we can put a single nail in downstairs.
After much (much!) effort, we were able to get a couple of recommended plumbers and electricians through to give us their thoughts and costs, and we chose our guys and added all the names and permit numbers to our application. Page is headed to the permit office tomorrow to turn this all in. While we’re pretty sure our goal of finishing by December is now a little too confident, we’re hoping within the next week we can at least have the green light to order our lumber and get this show on the road…we are more than ready to see some progress!

Wow, you guys have just moved in and are already working on the basement. That is great. We had an addition done 5 years ago and thankfully (my husband is a contractor) we had no problems with any of the work done by him, nor the others that worked. We were even complimented for how neat and clean everything was all the time. I worked like an animal, but it all paid off. We now have a huge master bedroom and family room. Good luck with everything. Can’t wait to see the process. TFS. Ana
