(and by programming, I mean regularly-scheduled basement progress!) with some recent storm damage. The west side of our house is punctured with 20 or so holes like these, meaning we will be replacing all of the siding on this end of our house. Gutters too. And flashing.
We’re chalking this up as another joy of home ownership. We’re adding it to the list, right under our $736 July water bill to keep the unrooted, new, sod alive in an extreme drought, and our roof drama back in January. Ah, it’s so good be a grown-up. (PS – don’t you think they need to invent a font to communicate sarcasm?)
Anyway, this may explain why we’re running a bit behind on basement progress, although we will have an update post on that in the coming week – I promise!
And in the meantime, Des Moines folks, if you have storm damage (as so many of us do – I just struck up a convo with a fellow hail victim at the paint store tonight!) you must call these guys! Amazing customer service, best buy among the estimates we gathered, and all-around well-run local business. Disclaimer: We weren’t perked to promote his business, we have just been THAT impressed that we wanted to pass along!
