Back in July I posted about my initial, half-baked thoughts on what I wanted to do with this half bathroom we are adding to our basement. The vanity we had our hearts set on initially (shown in the previous post) ended up being discontinued by the time I was ready to order it, and as I looked around for something to replace it, we ended up going in a totally different direction that I am even more excited about (funny how that works, isn’t it?). Thank God for Pinterest where I have my board dedicated to this project. It has helped me visualize so I can make some decisions.
Every vanity we loved was WAY out of our price range (by at least a G!) so we’ve decided to DIY it up and get exactly what we want for a fraction of the cost. The photo above is a little chop-shopped, but hopefully you get the vibe we’re going for. We bought that sofa table (Overstock.com!) and will drill a hole into it for a vessel sink and faucet to sit on top. We are still trying to incorporate a bit of the industrial look, so the open shelving and reclaimed wood paired with some exposed pipes will hopefully get us there.
Framing is nearly complete and the plumber comes this weekend – I’ll be back soon with a construction update…it’s crazy how different it feels down there!
