call me a believer.

I’ve become a big believer in a line of products recently, and I was certainly not the most likely of fans when I first heard about them. I love to pass along things I find and love, but first you should know a couple of background facts:

Fact #1:
I’m not the biggest fan of home party product demonstrations. I’ve always been a little on the fence about some of the products and the idea of feeling like you have to buy something when you go to a friend’s house. I should also mention that I’m not a rep for any companies.

Fact #2:
I hate to clean and when it comes to my housewife ranking in this area – I’m sure I fail. I don’t keep a dirty house, but I definitely don’t know all of the little tips and tricks that most women seem to just instinctively know. I also most likely have a lazier acceptance of what is “clean” simply because we don’t have pets or children in our home.

So there, you have the facts. Now, all that said, I’ve recently heard about this Norwegian cleaning supply company called Norwex and I let me just tell you, they have made a believer out of me, the nay-sayer cleaning failure!

I went to a Norwex party as part of a bride-to-be’s shower, and going against my “I don’t need anything” mindset, I ended up buying a dusting mitt and their best-known product, an Enviro Cloth. (I credit the demos with opening up my mind to trying some things…I couldn’t believe some of the “permanent” stains these products could get out.) Both items showed up at my house a couple weeks later…and both sat under the sink, unused. I honestly kind of forgot about the cloth altogether. I still had some Swiffer dusters to use up, and only when I ran out did I reach for the mitt. Hmm, definitely liked this better than the Swiffer – it was more maleable and I could curve my hand inside it to fit what I was dusting – unlike the rigid Swiffer. Norwex started to register on my radar…

Then, at my friend’s clothing swap party, her sister, Mia, was demonstrating more of the products. I told her that I had a couple items but hadn’t really used them and she got me excited again about all the ways I could be using them and sent me home with a couple of the Spiri Sponges and the Polish Cloth, which I had actually been tempted by before (it’s great for cleaning stainless appliances minus the streaking!). Fresh off a recent dose of Norwex product info, I came home the very next day to blood on my carpet — Page had busted his toe open on his desk and despite going at the carpet with Resolve, there was still a noticeable dark spot on the carpet.

I went all Billy Mays and ran to get my Enviro Cloth (and my camera to document what would surely be a success). Page, ever the challenger, was telling me there was no way it was going to come out – that he had been trying and trying and it was just going to have to stay there.

I was able to enjoy the sweet smugness of victory when after a little water and a quick rub, the spot completely vanished. Yesssss. Wife for the win.

So at the risk of sounding like a commercial, I’ll wrap this up and keep it brief. But I do appreciate reading from other bloggers when they find a product or product line they really can get behind, and for me, this is one of those. It’s certainly better to know something is tried and true by another real person (who isn’t the person selling it!) than to buy something unknown.

This line of products can be purchased through a rep – and if you don’t know of one, I highly recommend Mia – here is a link to her ordering site and here is a link to her Norwex facebook page where she posts a little more candidly about some of the items and you can see what others are asking her about and ordering. She’s also hosting a giveaway for followers (be sure to “like” her page!) who leave a comment – check it out!

I’d say “happy cleaning!” – but that has to be an oxymoron…?! ;)

Wow, I may need one of those! I’m personally a believer in microfiber cloths! I kept reading on Flylady how much everyone couldn’t live without flylady’s microfiber cloths. So I put my own cloths to the test (ones my MIL gave me 15 yrs ago for dusting) & WOW! It cleans everything streak free. I clean windows & mirrors with just a damp microfiber cloth, some water & elbow grease! I showed my mom when she visited recently & she’s a believer too. We found some orange ones at Big Lots for $1.50! (the price made us live with the color) I can’t believe how much some of these other companies are making off these amazing inexpensive cloths. But I would still pay that much if I had to as they are worth their weight in gold! :)

Love my norwex! I, like you, am suspicious of all things that reek of pyramid scheme. However, I came, I listened, I use and now I sound like a commercial, too! My only complaint is that they last so long I don’t have an excuse to buy more :)
